The Guide I wish I had
π Hey, you found me.
Welcome to BeyondBorders. If you're a student in Southeast Asia thinking about studying in the U.S., this space was literally made for you.
I’m not here to sell you a dream. I’m here to show you how to actually get there.
Because here’s the truth:
When I (or someone just like you) first thought about applying to international universities, it felt... confusing. Complicated. Expensive. Kinda scary.
Sound familiar?
π Why This Blog Exists
There’s tons of advice out there about studying in the U.S. But most of it? Written for students in the U.S. Or Europe. Or places with school counselors who guide you through every step.
In Southeast Asia, it’s a different game. You Google one thing, and suddenly you’re in a spiral of SAT deadlines, visa rules, and weird acronyms (what even is FAFSA?).
So I thought:
“What if there was one place — just one — that broke it all down simply, honestly, and specifically for students from here?”
That’s what BeyondBorders is.
π‘ What You’ll Find Here
This isn’t just another blog with generic advice. Everything here is designed for you — the Southeast Asian student with big dreams and maybe zero clue where to start.
You’ll get:
Step-by-step guides
Insider tips on essays, scholarships, and interviews
Real talk about money, visas, culture shock, and rejection
Stories from students who’ve done it
Basically: I’ve done the homework so you don’t have to.
✨ What’s Coming Next
This is just post #1. Here’s what’s dropping soon:
✅ A beginner’s checklist: What to do right now if you want to study abroad
π Essay tips that actually help (no “just be yourself” nonsense)
πΈ Where to find real scholarships (not the scammy ones)
π Visa 101: How to prepare and not panic at the interview
And more.
π Let’s Do This Together
If studying abroad feels like a long shot — trust me, you’re not alone. But you’re also not stuck.
I built BeyondBorders because I didn’t want the next wave of dreamers to feel lost like I did.
So let’s figure this out — together.
